Mass Media

- Provides an analytic approach of the interaction between the paradigms of media as a science, and its actual application in the social arena.

  Tamazight media

- Studies the notion of Tamazight media.

- Studies the principles of the Tamazight media, its historical and intellectual backgrounds

-Focuses on the different modern Tamazight media experiences. Both broadcast media and cyber- media are brought into account.

 

Arabic media

- Studies the notion of Arabic media.

- Studies the most important experiences and constituents of the modern Arabic media.

- explores the issue of censorship, freedom of speech, editing and publishing in the Arabic media.

 

Media writing

- Explores the stages that media writing requires. These include database collection, layout, drafting,  filming,  enunciating the investigation, editing , publishing and disseminating.

 

Media planning

- Studies the notion of media planning.

- Explores all the different mass media strategies.

- Studies the presence of the audience in the media planning.
Media and Environment

- Explores the relationship that the media entertains with the social, political, natural and cultural environment.

-Studies the role that  the media might play in promoting the protection of the environment

 

Media Ethics

- Studies the professional code of Ethics related to the mass- media.

- Stresses the urgent need of abiding by the truth.

- Stresses the right of the public opinion to have access to truth.

-  Stresses the compulsory aspect of objectivity and conciseness, as well as the obligation of avoiding defamation and forgery

 

Arabic Language

- Interested in improving the news writing.

- Teaches the news writing techniques.

- Provides a model Arabic language related to news writing that copes with the modern life and the technological development.

- Organises training programs related to Arabic news writing

 

Tamazight Language

- Introduction to the Tamazight mother tongue.

-Introduction to the other Tamazight languages.

- Popularising and generalising the Tamazight alphabet (Tifinagh)

- Teaching the Tamazight language.

- Introducing the Tamazight journalists to the grammar of the Tamazight language.

- Organizing special training programs related to the Tamazight news writing.

- Teaching the techniques of advertisement and publicity in the Tamazight language.

- Studies the  Tamazight journalistic and the media terminologies

 

Other Languages

- The university uses other languages such as English, Spanish, French and Dutch.

- The student may conduct a practical research in the country’s language where he resides. It will be translated later.

- After completing the second year from the B.A program, the student should study a second language, which he will himself chooses

 

Media Training

- During the B.A course program, the student is required to take part in two training programs: one is short and the other is long.

- The short training takes place before completing the second year program. It is one day training in one of the known journalistic institutions, or in a publishing house, or with a periodical, a journal or a magazine.  In case the student fails to find a place for his training, he may conduct a research on an on-line journal or an on- line magazine.  After completing his training, the trainee has to translate his experience in a monograph, whereby he describes the place of training, as well as the subject of the research. Similarly, the trainee should write about what he has been doing in this training. The trainee will obtain points for his research; these will be included in the final required score he is supposed to get, should he get a second year B.A program Certificate.

- As far as the long training is concerned, it takes place before completing his B.A program, either in the third of the fourth year. It consists of a practical training that the student undertakes in one of the media or journalistic institutions. The training lasts some days, interrupted or not, and which lead to the writing of a monograph, both theoretical and practical. The trainee has to select the subject of his treatise in accordance with his training. The monograph is compulsory, should the student get his B.A degree. If the student is not able to fine a location for his training, then the university will guarantee this by contacting its offices and all the institutions with which the university has concluded a memorandum of understanding. The prospective trainee will be notified of the place of his training. In general, the location is usually near his place of residence
